Frequently Asked Questions You May Have Before You Provide For A Child
How long do I provide for a child? The money provides for a child in the program as long as they remain a part of Ima’s Home. Your monthly donation helps to provide for a child during that month. Children in the program are between the ages of Infant until their education is complete. When a child leaves Ima’s Home, your support continues to inspire change for other children.
Can I visit the children? Yes. You are more than welcome to visit Ima’s Home. We have Mission Trips scheduled throughout the year. Registration is open at imashome.com/missiontrips.
How often will I hear about the children? Once you provide for a child, you will receive a letter from our Coordinator, and a Facebook invitation to our private Ima’s Home Friends page that will acquaint you with the home. Throughout the year you will receive updates, a quarterly Newsletter, prayer requests and praise reports. You will also be able to see the children’s activities, live praise and worship and other special occasions.
Writing letters represent hope to the children, so you are encouraged to write as often as you like, and we will translate on your behalf. In the future we are hoping to start a pen pal program so that each child will be able to respond during the year. The relationship between you and the children will grow and develop through regular communications.
Can I send gifts to the children? Yes, encouragement and inspiration are the most valuable things you can include in your letters to the children! If you want to add more, consider lightweight, paper-based items, and of course, photos of you will be the best!
Does the money go directly to a child? No. Your provision payments are leveraged with the donations of others to make the children's community a healthier place to grow up, to adequately provide for needs such as education, health, and nutrition.
What does your monthly pledge provide for the children? The children will have access to things like clean water, an education, improved healthcare, better nutrition and a loving home. Your monthly pledge provides resources that empower Ima’s Home to better care for the children.
